The integration of Ripple's systems into the back office of the American broker coincides with the robust expansion of the market for blockchain instruments that are under regulation.

28 million accounts, Ripple President explains Robinhood chose RLUSD stablecoin

Ripple President Monica Long has explained the reasoning behind Robinhood selecting the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin as a vital instrument for settling transactions across its worldwide operations and for its 28 million accounts. She noted that large-scale partnerships necessitate significant ambitions, stating, "Big partnerships call for big ambitions!"

This end-to-end strategy is now in effect, bringing the complete capacity of Ripple's blockchain infrastructure to @RobinhoodApp, which stands as one of the largest trading platforms, serving both retail and institutional clients. This strategy encompasses everything from settling $RLUSD on the @XRP Ledger to managing treasury functions and prime brokerage activities.

According to her assessment, the collaboration with a major entity that serves 28.6 million investors clearly demonstrates the "growing institutional demand for integrated solutions." Monica Long further conveyed that prominent market participants are seeking readily available technologies that can simultaneously support customer-facing applications alongside covering "core financial operations." She stressed, "And that's exactly where Ripple delivers," connecting this agreement to the evolving demands within the fintech sector worldwide.

This arrangement holds significance for XRP holders and the community because of the specific manner in which Ripple's solutions are being woven into the internal workings of the American brokerage. Robinhood is not merely adding a new asset to its listings; rather, it is completely migrating its operational support functions onto blockchain infrastructure.

The RLUSD stablecoin functions directly upon the XRP Ledger (XRPL) distributed ledger. The subsidiary exchange Bitstamp manages institutional settlements utilizing this network, elevating the ledger's practical utility to a fundamentally new level. Concurrently, Robinhood is adopting the Ripple Treasury system, which equips the broker with the ability to automatically project cash flows, administer the firm's liquidity, and execute internal netting of reciprocal commitments. Furthermore, the Ripple Prime service furnishes Bitstamp with credit backing for two dozen distinct assets ahead of the scheduled debut of perpetual futures trading.

Johann Kerbrat, the head of crypto at Robinhood, shares Monica Long's perspective. He also holds the view that the genuine worth of stable tokens is now determined exclusively by their utility in commerce, and the proposed collection of tools constitutes a functioning model of a "connected, global financial system."

The RLUSD stablecoin itself has surpassed a capitalization of $2.4 billion since its introduction in December 2024, positioning it as a central conduit for the fintech platform's treasury flows, given that the worldwide volume of stablecoins surpasses $300 billion.
