$7.2 million raised by Canton platform Cancore at $60 million token valuation

The company plans to add more real-world assets (RWAs) and liquidity to Canton, as Cancore, a platform built on the Canton Network that links tokenized assets with public blockchain liquidity, secured $7.2 million in a seed funding round. Paper Ventures, dao5, ArkStream Capital, X Ventures, MH Ventures, and Proof of Talk participated in backing this financing. There was no formal lead investor, although Paper Ventures and dao5 secured the largest shares, according to information from a Cancore co-founder.

The platform has been operational on Canton’s main network since April, functioning as both a validator and a Featured App. As of October 1, the company reported processing over $53.2 million in cumulative trading volume across more than 84,000 trades, alongside generating more than $538,000 in protocol revenue. Cancore is creating infrastructure intended to connect assets native to Canton, which includes tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), with liquidity found on public blockchain networks. The firm describes its methodology as a “Liquidity OS for Tokenized Finance,” designed to facilitate the trading and execution of tokenized financial instruments across various blockchain ecosystems.

Ye Su, General Partner at ArkStream, commented that “Canton has built strong institutional foundations, and the next step is opening it to broader market liquidity.” He added, “Cancore is taking a practical approach, with live volume and revenue from day one. We’re pleased to back a team focused on real usage over hype.”

Transactions between Canton and supported public blockchain networks are managed by Cancore using atomic settlement, meaning exchanges are structured to either finalize completely or revert without any partial completion. Users maintain command over their private keys via Cancore’s self-custody wallet; swaps are structured to settle on both networks or be refunded.

The platform also supports automated operations via a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which permits users to delegate tasks and automate platform actions to AI systems. Cancore intends to broaden these capacities by allowing users to construct and deploy their own trading agents to manage positions, rebalance portfolios, allocate capital, and execute strategies.

Wasif Rashid, co-founder and CEO of Cancore, stated, “Tokenization is bringing a growing range of financial assets onchain, but making those assets programmable is the next step.” He further elaborated, “We see a future where users can deploy capital across tokenized assets and use agents to execute strategies and manage positions on their behalf.” The ultimate objective is to enable trading agents to interact with public-chain liquidity, Canton-native assets, and tokenized real-world assets through a single execution layer.

Danish Chaudhry, General Partner at Paper Ventures, noted that “In traditional markets, much of the value sits with the infrastructure that moves capital between venues: clearing, settlement, prime brokerage.” He continued, “Tokenized markets will need the same layer, and between Canton and public chains it barely exists today. Cancore is building it to the security standard institutions expect, and we think this team is well placed to define how tokenized capital moves across networks.”

The $7.2 million in seed funding will be utilized by Cancore to enhance its connectivity to additional blockchain networks and liquidity pools, while simultaneously advancing its development of security, settlement, and agentic trading infrastructure. The current connectivity spans Canton, Tron, and EVM-compatible networks.

Separately, CC was observed near the $0.1007 level at the time of this report, marking a 2.4% rise from the previous day, an increase that coincided with the recent development. Trading volume had climbed to approximately 180,020 CC, surpassing the volume seen over the preceding four days. The volume indicator shifted to green as the price recovered, following three consecutive red bars, indicating that at the moment of writing, there were more buyers than sellers. CC had fallen from an intraday peak near the $0.1043 price point and remained below its recent average prices. While this upward movement provided some relief during October’s downturn, it did not guarantee a lasting recovery or a direct reaction to Cancore’s funding announcement.
