Binance Alerts Users: Ethereum Deposits Paused and Major Delistings Ahead

On October 30, Binance plans to remove 12 spot trading pairs and 10 margin trading pairs.

The largest global cryptocurrency exchange will temporarily halt certain services concerning the Ethereum (ETH) network this week. Furthermore, it will eliminate several trading pairs that fail to satisfy established criteria.

Wallet maintenance on the ETH network is scheduled for October 28. During this time, deposits and withdrawals on that blockchain will be temporarily unavailable. The procedure is projected to last about one hour before operations resume.

The firm assured that token trading on the network will remain unaffected, promising to manage all technical needs of patrons. The announcement stated, "Deposits and withdrawals for token(s) on the aforementioned network will be reopened once the upgraded network is deemed to be stable."

Beyond the Ethereum network update, Binance announced the removal of several spot trading pairs on October 30. These include AAVE/BTC, ATOM/BTC, CAKE/BTC, DASH/BTC, ETC/BTC, ICP/BTC, PENDLE/BTC, RENDER/BTC, TAO/BTC, THETA/BTC, XAUT/BTC, and XTZ/BTC.

This removal stems from a thorough review of all listed pairs, as the exchange routinely verifies if they meet standards like sufficient trading volume and liquidity. The exchange clarified, "The delisting of a spot trading pair does not affect the availability of the tokens on Binance Spot."

On the same date, ten margin trading pairs are also slated for discontinuation. These pairs are RE/USD1, 币安人生/U, KAT/U, BTC/USDS, ETH/USDS, AVNT/U, FET/U, TRUMP/U, APT/U, and WLFI/U.

These announced delistings have not caused significant price shifts for the involved digital assets. This outcome is not unexpected, given that substantial market reactions usually happen when Binance ceases all services for a specific digital asset.
